Author's Blog:
3/17/20: In the current climate of corona-virus precautions and "social distancing," I'll be using much of my personal "isolation" time to continue writing the sequel to The Flower Eater. If you haven't read it, here's a little background on the story's landscape: The Flower Eater is set in a beautiful, medieval-style world full of plants and flowers, and not much machinery. There are some clocks, but nothing much more technical than that. Magic exists in this world, but it's the magic of spells and ritual, practiced by the spiritual priestesses in the Sisterhood of Zerr, whose goal is to serve the goddess Zerr. (Zerr rhymes with "air".) There are also warriors who serve the goddess within the larger structure of the Order of Zerr. In terms of gender, this first book in the series follows traditional gender roles, with the warriors being male and members of the Sisterhood being female. Psychic powers feature in the story and those powers exist in both genders. The sequel explores the psychic element further, along with the evolution of those powers in the novel's heroine Trilla. Related to the psychic powers is the exploration of an astral dimension that forms a parallel world that Trilla and other members of the Zerran Order visit with their astral bodies. I'm very intrigued by the idea of astral projection and I think I enjoy those parts of the story best. Hoping to share more of that world with you before too long! 3/08/20: At last I'm returning to the garden of the priestesses, to finish Trilla's tale. Her struggles of passion and faith continue in the sequel, which I'm back to writing. (I was called away from Trilla's story to channel a new character with a new paranormal romance. Stay tuned for info on that release, as well.) For now, it's back to writing about the beautiful world of Trilla as she questions her lover's heart, and her place in the Sisterhood of Zerr. Happy spring!
